This session will explore some epistemological implications of the
change in the University of Bath regulations to permit the submission of
e-media, including CD/DVD in research degrees.

"Submission of non-paper media
Ordinarily, candidates should submit their work in paper thesis form.
However, where appropriate to the academic work being conducted,
additional non-paper media may be submitted. Candidates should note that
electronic media must be unalterable (eg CD-Rom or DVD) and that non-paper submissions
should normally be treated as supplementary to the paper thesis."
The focus of the session will be on the clarification of the meanings of
the embodied values that give meaning and purpose to human existence and
their transformation, through multi-media narratives, into living epistemological
standards of judgement - see
http://www.actionresearch.net/jwprofinaug12.htm
. It will also include an illustration
from http://www.actionresearch.net
on how the interconnecting and branching networks of communication of the
internet can assist researchers in the education and analysis of social
formations, see – Part 11 of http://www.arexpeditions.montana.edu/articleviewer.php?AID=3D80
(There is a Discuss this Paper Button from the front page and I do
encourage you to post an evaluative response to the multi-media account -
particularly Part 11.)
To see a multi-media prologue to a draft doctoral thesis see:

(The video clip could take 10 minutes to download if you want to
appreciate the use of ostensive definition in communicating the
embodied value of love at work)
I will also be drawing on the papers in Vol.34, No.2, January 2004 of
the Cambridge Journal of Education in our electronic journals section,
after you have logged in, at:
